Challenger Learning Center of Colorado is owned and operated by the Colorado Consortium for Earth and Space Science Education (CCESSE). Annually, CCESSE serves about 32,000 eager learners in Colorado and beyond, through its trademark Challenger space simulations, Mikkelson Planetarium programs, Maker Space design/build activities, distance learning programs, portable planetarium shows, STEM-themed summer camps, teacher professional development, and community events. It takes the dedication of a small team of educators and the support of a whole community to sustain this innovative, informal science education initiative.
CCESSE is not a grant-making organization, but we do solicit financial support from individual donors, state and federal government, foundations, and corporations. We achieve positive change one student at a time.
As Plutarch said, “the mind is a fire to be kindled, not a vessel to be filled.”
