Students will step into the role of real engineers by turning ideas into real objects in the 2.5 hour hands-on introduction to 3D design workshop.
By using Onshape, the same professional design software used in industry, to create their own 3D models, participants will learn how digital designs are transformed into physical objects using Bambu A1 Minin 3D printers. Best of all, each participant will take home a custom 3D-printed creation they designed themselves.
This workshop builds confidence, creativity, and real-world STEM skills while showing students how engineers, designers, and inventors bring ideas to life.
Students will:
- Learn the basics of professional CAD design using Onshape
- Design and customize their own 3D model
- Discover how 3D printers work and how digital designs become physical objects
- Practice problem solving, spatial reasoning, and creative thinking
- Take home a small 3D-printed object they designed
Class size is limited to 20 students to ensure individualize support.
This is a beginner's workshop, so no prior experience needed - just curiosity and imagination!
